The original Durban Poison strain cannabis seed from Dutch Passion Seeds is a classic outdoor and indoor variety, hardy enough for outdoor-grow, even in extreme north/south latitudes. The cannabis plant originally came to Holland from South Africa and was propagated for a long time in the 70's through inbreeding. With each generation the Durban Poison Strain adapted better and better to the windy and rainy climate of Northern Europe. During the breeding process, some Indica hereditary traits, unknown today, were crossed within the Durban Poison.
Durban Poison may initially show broad indica-like leaves, but the growth pattern allows the sativa dominance to emerge at the end with long flowers punctuated by small sativa-like leaves. Durban Poison is ready for indoor harvesting after 8-9 weeks. Outdoors Durban Poison can grow 2-3 meters high and harvesting is done at the beginning of autumn. If there is enough space for the roots, the cannabis plant Durban Poison develops strong side branches to be able to carry the heavy, resinous flowers. The yield indoors is between 450 and 650 grams per m², while outdoors it yields 450 to 550 grams per plant.
Plant development, harvest appearance and an energizing and uplifting high are typically sativa-like.
Durban Poison has a spicy, slightly misty taste with a hint of aniseed, licorice and cloves. The buds are often dark green and resistant to mold and pests. Very strong and with consistently good yields.
